Larry Mooney and his co-driver of old Alan Park are circumnavigating Ireland by means of rail only on the 6th Oct.

(BTW, Larry Mooney is a current member of the TDC Committee)

Details
Larry Mooney & Alan Park are taking to the railways of Ireland to raise funds for Special Olympics Ireland Eastern Region.

On the 6th Of October we will be travelling around Ireland in one day to raise funds for Special Olympics Ireland Eastern Region.

We start our journey at 5.20am in Tralee and arrive at our final destination, Derry at 11.20pm. We will cover a journey of over 1,250 rail kilometers passing through many of Irelands towns and cities.

Having enjoyed success at the highest levels of Motor Sport we have decided to complete the Train of Thought Challenge to support the Special Olympics programme which is all about Changing Lives.

We have garnered the support of Irish Rail and CIE Tours International http://www.cietours.ie/ who have donated a voucher to the value of €1,000 that will be awarded to the donor who guesses to the nearest figure the number of railway sleepers we will pass over on our journey.

For each €2 donated you can lodge a guess i.e. €2 = 1 guess or €20 = 10 guesses. All guesses along with donor names and contact numbers should be emailed to - paul.ahearne@specialolympics.ie. Paul will ensure all guesses are entered into the draw.

Listen out for us on The Mooney Show on 30th September

Here's hoping we don't go off the rails!

NOTE: Paul Ahearne, Fundraising Coordinator, Special Olympics Ireland. 01 8691660.
